Affiliate marketing is, in simple terms, the relationship between a merchant (product owner) and an online marketer (you) also known as the affiliate. The merchant has a product he or she wants to sell. That product could be anything from an e-book to furniture, and almost everything in between. For the merchant affiliate marketing is great because they can have hundreds of marketers selling their product for them. And for the affiliate it's also great because he or she gets a commission of sometimes up to 75% of the price of the product their selling. That is a win, win situation.

I personally think that affiliate marketing is better for the affiliate than it is for the merchant for several reasons.

There is no need for the affiliate to create a product. The merchant has already done that.

Affiliates have no need to worry about inventory, order processing, shipping, shipping costs, or customer support. All of that has already been taken care of by the merchant. The sole job of the affiliate is to supply the customers. Or should I say buyers. There is also no contract between you and the merchant. If you decide you want to sell some other product then simply move on.

There is no experience necessary to be an affiliate marketer. You don't have to be a sales person, or even know anything about sales. Almost all affiliate programs offer training and marketing tools for you to use. These can include emails, and articles that you can copy and paste. Many have banners, text links, and sales letters for you to use. All you have to do is learn to use the tools they give you. Becoming an affiliate marketer is simple. Heck even kids are becoming affiliate marketers, and making a lot of money at it I might add.

Affiliate programs are free to join. If you ever run across an affiliate program that charges you a fee to join then find another because that one's probably a scam. Plus there are so many affiliate programs to choose from that it boggles the mind. If you're just starting out in affiliate marketing I'd suggest sticking to digital products in a niche you're interested in.

Affiliate marketing is one of the simplest, easiest, and most efficient ways for you to earn money online. But no matter how simple or efficient it is it's not going to work if you don't TAKE ACTION. Remember this you can read till your eyes bleed, but it will do you no good unless you're willing to take the next step and that's TAKE ACTION!
